HISTIDINE
There is a long list of important things histidine does. Listed here are only a few:
  • siginificant in the growth and repair of tissues
  • involved in the maintenance of nerve cell coverings
  • necessary for production of red and white blood cells
  • helps to lower blood pressure
  • aids in removing heavy metals from the body
  • may help in the prevention of AIDS
  • histamine is derived from histidine
  • may be helpful with indigestion resulting from a lack of stomach acid
Taken together with B3 and B6, histidine can help improve sexual functioning. Inadequate levels may contribute to rheumatoid arthritis and nerve deafness.
